Fun is not an option. It’s medicine.
For mums who’ve decided the next ten years are going to feel different. You’ll make fifty decisions before nine this morning. None of them will be for you.

The power of play, for adults
Something you do. Not something you watch. Not something you organise for someone else.
Where this usually starts
That pause before you answer.
What would you do with a completely free Saturday? Nobody needing anything, nowhere to be.
There’s usually a pause. Then something sensible comes out. Sleep. Get on top of the washing.
The pause is the interesting bit, not the answer. It’s the same one that turns up when someone asks what you feel like for dinner, or what you want for your birthday. You’re decisive about everything else.
And underneath it, a thought you’d never say out loud. That somewhere in the last decade you might have become a bit boring.
That’s not what’s happened. Your nervous system has been in survival mode for years. Not a crisis. Nothing anybody would notice. Just a long, quiet depletion that looks, from the outside, exactly like a woman who has it together.
And a system running that way stops asking what you want. Wanting costs energy, and yours has been going elsewhere.
The idea
Fun is Fuel.
Rest and regulation are two different things.
An early night doesn’t settle a nervous system that’s been on watch for years… losing track of time does. Wanting is a capacity, and capacities go quiet when they sit unused. Which is the good news, because unused is a long way from gone.
Fun isn’t the prize at the end of a regulated life. It sits on the same list as sleep, movement, food, daylight and the people around you. It’s just the only one on that list you’ve been treating as optional. Regulation is a whole-life job, and it’s the one I’m trained for. And if you’re somewhere in perimenopause, that season stacks on top of all of it. A system already running hot gets less margin, right at the point life stops handing you any.
When I say fun, most women picture a night out, or a holiday, or being someone spontaneous… all of it needing money, childcare and energy you haven’t got. I mean something so ordinary you’ve walked straight past it. Hobbies, music, sport, art, making something, being outside, being in water. What they’ve all got in common is that you’re doing it, rather than watching someone else do it. Which is the bit worth sitting with. You have spent years on a sideline at somebody else’s game, in the car, on the bench, holding the drink bottles.
At some point you have to put the drink bottles down and go and play. Especially now.

Who’s behind this
Hi, I’m Hayley.
I’m a holistic occupational therapist, almost ten years in, and I did the whole degree full time with three kids at home. So I knew exactly what it feels like to have nothing left long before anyone handed me the theory for it.
Occupation just means the things you do with your day. My job has always been working out what someone needs to be able to do to feel like themselves again. I’ve done that after strokes and accidents, and I do it now with women who look, from every angle anyone can see, like they’re doing just fine.
Holistic means I won’t only look at one piece of it. Your sleep, your body, whatever season it’s in, the people around you, what you actually get up to on a Tuesday. It all lands on the same nervous system, so it all matters.
These days I’m a single mum with three teenagers and a full-time job, doing this alongside all of it. So I’m not standing on the other side of this waving you over. I’m in it too, building my own week the same way I’ll help you build yours.
The method
The Fun Mum Formula™
You’ll know what actually refuels you and what’s quietly costing you. But what you’ll notice is Tuesday: you feel like yourself, you want things again, and there’s something in the week that’s yours. Not a reinvention. A return.

01
Regulate Energy
Where your energy actually goes, and it’s rarely what you’d blame. Five leaks, invisible until someone points at them, and closable one at a time.
-
02
Reclaim Identity
You were someone before you became everyone’s everything. This is where you stop asking permission, and stop apologising for taking up room in your own week.
-
03
Reconnect Relationships
Some people make your shoulders drop the moment you walk in. Others have you on duty without either of you noticing. This is where you let go of the second kind and go and find more of the first.

Rediscover Fun & Fulfilment
Fun isn’t the prize at the end of a regulated month. It’s not about what you feel you “should” enjoy at your age… it’s full permission to let your hair down and find fun again. The type that leaves you with a smile and more energy than you started with.

Redesign Your Rhythm
You get to be someone with plans again. Not the person who makes everyone else’s happen - the one with things of her own in the diary that the family learns to work around.
Where to start
Three ways to do this with me.
What Is Your Nervous System Craving?
Sixty minutes on what your nervous system is craving, why you stopped hearing it, and what it’s costing you every week. Let’s deep dive and you leave with one prescription for one day this week.
FreeFun Mum Activation
This is where it stops being a good idea, and becomes a way of life. Five weeks in, your week looks different - and you’re not the only one who notices.

So what does waiting actually cost?
Nothing dramatic, which is exactly why it’s easy to keep doing. You’ve probably said some version of I’ll get back to me when things calm down. When they’re all at school. When work steadies. When they’re teenagers and need me less.
Calm doesn’t arrive. It changes shape. Teenagers need more of you emotionally, not less, and the window you’re waiting for has never had a date on it.
And you’re not being preserved while you wait. Wanting is a capacity, and capacities decline when they go unused… so the pause before you answer gets a little longer every year. Which cuts both ways, because the same thing is true in reverse. Use it and it comes back.
Your business runs on your nervous system, not your calendar
For the mum of teenagers who’s also running the business.
When she’s working, she’s thinking about the kids. When she’s with them, she’s thinking about work. Neither one gets the good version of her.
She planned for it to get easier when they got older. Built the business around that assumption. The childcare goes down and the emotional load goes up.
The cost never looks like a crisis. It looks like admin. An email left for nine days. Twelve months at roughly the same revenue while working more than the year before.
Nothing is wrong with her. That’s a capacity problem and it has a mechanism. I’m Hayley. Occupational therapist, mum of three teenagers, and I run this business.
Waking up wanting the day. Going into the sales call regulated so the number comes out without the wobble. Deciding in ten minutes what used to take three weeks.
You’re burning fuel every time you film a reel, hire, launch, or say no. Play is what fills the tank. Fun is fuel.
Rewired: For mums in business
Eight weeks, one on one, built for a woman running a business and a household on the same tank. It opens to a small group next month.
